Viognier, Central Coast, 2006 Like a hummingbird that has found its perfect flower, this Viognier offers all of the traditional flavors one expects from this temperamental grape. Finicky to grow, one must pick the Viognier grape at its peak of ripeness or the balance of acidity and alcohol will be lost in the shuffle of fruitiness and flavor. A Caribbean abyss awaits in every glass, starting with a nose full of orange blossoms and honeysuckles and a palate ripe with apricots and peaches. A hint of pink grapefruit finishes with the classic touch of honey that marks a hand crafted Viognier aged in neutral French oak.
